About Me

I am a computer science engineer and I've always been passionate about coding. I started when I was sixteen and my first approach to software was with Pascal, but it did not capture me. However, everything changed in my third year of high school with the programming lessons, where the main language used was C. My second approach to coding was the right one. Since then I've never stopped coding, spending afternoons and evenings, initially with school exercises and then with small projects.

After my high school diploma, my journey with computer science continued at university. I had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of computer science in many of its nuances, while at the same time training my engineering skills, improving my technical thinking and my ability to deal with complex problems.

At the beginning of my Master's Degree, I chose the AI & ML specialization. At that time, generative models and the outstanding ChatGPT technology hadn't been discovered yet. However, I decided not to fully dedicate my time to AI, and instead also attended advanced programming and software engineering courses, following my passion for coding.

My work experience started while I was still at university. I began as an AI Engineer, working with Natural Language Processing and with the implementation of data warehouses. However, it didn't last long. I switched to a Full Stack Developer role at Bosch, which turned out to be the right fit for me, where I could use Java again and some of its most popular frameworks.

Driven by the expertise gained over these years and by my continuous side projects, I decided to become a freelancer, offering software engineering services and Business Intelligence solutions. My BI skills grew over the previous years, during which I learned many technologies that allowed me to handle a project of this type end-to-end.

Over time, I've developed my skills in this area, and today the role that describes me best is Data Engineer. I know many techniques for dealing with large-scale data and modeling it for analytics. All this is enriched by my software engineering experience, which gives me a clear picture of how a good software product, and a BI system is one of them, has to be built.

What I care about most is building things that last, I always try to have a craftman's mindset. If there is a common thread across everything I've done, it's that I like understanding how things work underneath, not just making them work.
